The driving force behind VeloBarZ, Len has been involved in sports and nutrition, and in Sports Nutrition for decades.
His first serious test came when he was tasked with a cook duties during unsupported week-long bike camping trip in Estonia. Bikers were satisfied with his newly-found skills, and Len’s penchant for an adventurous outdoor cooking was born!
Later in his outdoor activities life, Len was planning, calculating, and preparing non-perishable nutritious meals for unsupported cross country skiing, mountaineering, backpacking, and other kinds of expeditions.
As an avid road cyclist, Len got interested in making energy snacks awhile ago (not satisfied with the quality, ingredients, and price point of the commercial offerings), and due to the fact that some of his brethren were adherents of Paleo lifestyle, he has put an emphasis on a gluten-free approach. In order to share his creations with the community, the iBook – “VeloBarZ: Home-Made No-Bake Gluten-Free Energy Source” was created.
And now, to make it more widespread, he offers the website as a source of inspiration for all budding home cooking enthusiasts. Since the iBook creation, Len started exploring other avenues, including Baking, for more advanced home chefs. Still Gluten-Free, Vegan, and 100% Healthy!
The new trend these days is a food Blog, and Len now offers this feature on the site. Besides culinary musings covering a wide specter of healthy lifestyle nutrition, such topics as reviewing world-wide athletic activities in a Sport Endurance World will be covered, as well as equipment and routes/destinations – so stay tuned for the regular Blog entries!
Len always exercises outside, except the indoor Ice Skating during a warmer seasons, and his current silent sports interests include but not limited to:
